What's Your Vision for 2020?

Updated: Sep 8, 2022

20/20 Vision is associated with your visual acuity. In other words, it’s your ability to see the content of a vision testing chart and other objects clearly. If your test results reveal that you need assistance with achieving 20/20 vision, you will be prescribed eyeglasses or contacts. Sometimes in life our vision can weaken due to negative circumstances such as:

  • Illness

  • Relationship issues

  • Financial challenges

  • Lack of interpersonal development

These situations can cause a delay in progress and lead to discouragement. If you don’t have someone or something to assist you in regaining your goal focus, many years and decades can pass without you accomplishing your goals. Regardless of the time frame that has passed, it’s not too late to correct your goal vision.

Visual Assessment

When or if you go to have a visual exam every year or every two years, you can have a field test done and dilation of your pupils. These tests assess your ability to see far, and if your vision is being obscured by:

  • Cataracts

  • Glaucoma

  • Detached retina

  • Cornea injuries and other eye diseases

If these visual limitations are not assessed and corrected in time, your ability to see clearly may decrease rapidly.

Seek Help

The process of achieving your goals is not an easy feat. If you’ve expressed your goals with others who can’t see your vision, and they expressed confusion or doubt, you may have given up. When seeking medical assistance sometimes you may be unsuccessful in receiving care you need due to the apathy expressed by a physician.

When this occurs, it’s easy to conclude that all physicians are careless. However, you must be diligent in your search for help. There are doctors who sincerely care about their patients and want to see them succeed in their health journey.

The same diligence should be implemented in your search for goal vision support. If you’ve discovered that those closest to you are the ones who are the most discouraging, it’s time to seek assistance outside of your relationship circle.

For example, there was a woman mentioned in Mark 5:25-29 that had an issue of blood. She sought assistance from several physicians, but she was unsuccessful. She paid money for their assistance, but her investment was wasted. It wasn’t until she resolved within herself that she needed to reach out to a greater source (Jesus) to receive the healing that she needed.

If you don’t know anyone locally that can assist you with your goals, you can search online specifically if your goals are related to business development regarding:

  • Marketing

  • Social Media

  • Content creation

  • Licensing

These are just a few examples that may be related to your vision for next year. On the other hand, you may want to pursue education, employment, or relationship goals. Whatever your goal is, now is the time to start thinking about scheduling time to brainstorm your ideas or initiate previous plans.

When you become proactive and seek resources that can give you clarity about what steps you need to take to accomplish your goals, you can educate yourself and avoid distractions that you’ve been warned about.

I experienced an unexpected event this year which interrupted a process of meeting goal deadlines I scheduled. It’s been a few months since the event. I must admit that I’ve been distracted and discouraged by the circumstance and the limited space to work on those goals. However, I recently decided that I must readjust my thinking and focus on the plan I started earlier this year.

It’s easy to carry what happened this year into next year, but you must make a concerted effort to make your vision for 2020 clear and utilize the resources that can help you see the distance you need to reach instead of letting nearsighted events, obstacles, and toxic relationships block your efforts.

Stay focused and blessed!
